St. Mary’s Fire Department was dispatched to a tractor fire on July 16. St. Charles was called for mutual aid for manpower as temperatures were at 94 degrees at the time of the call.

Firefighters controlled the fire at the Branding Iron Bistro within 20 minutes after arriving on scene. The call came in shortly after 8 p.m. on June 24.
Five departments battled a grass fire on July 9 south of Herrick. Departments from Burke, Bonesteel, Fairfax, Gregory and Naper responded to a grass fire two miles south of Herrick.
