I hope as you read this that you are all enjoying the warmth of the sun as we move into summer. This will be my last report, as I will not be re-running for President.

The Denison Volunteer Fire Department was called out to hay bales burning in high winds on April 26. There were about 26 bales on a flat bed semi trailer.

On April 22, Steve Yezek, an EMT and member of the Grafton Fire Department, came across Iowa DNR employees doing a prescribed burn south of Forest City near Hayfield.

The 20^th Annual Memorial Service will be held Sunday, June 8, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Firefighters Memorial in Coralville (Exit 242 off Interstate 80).

I mentioned last month that Al Esch, Brad Yeager and I would be traveling to Washington, DC to meet with our legislators. The trip went well and we had good meetings with each office.
