In waterfights at South Dakota Fire School in Mitchell, first place went to Hurley, followed by Madison in second place, Canton in third place and Tea in fourth place.
The Battle Creek Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at, 24797 V.I.P. Rd. Hermosa, SD 57744.
State Fire School was well attended. Thank you to the SDFA Board, State Auxiliary, and Mitchell Tech staff for all of their hard work throughout the weekend.

A total of 40 firefighters from Gilmore City, Bradgate, Bode, Livermore, Renwick, Rolfe, Pocahontas and Clare conducted a training burn of a church in Gilmore City on May 1.
Bettendorf Fire was called for a detached garage on fire in the flooded area of 179th Street Place. Upon arrival, met with the homeowners who were on a boat.
On Sunday, May 5, the Humeston Fire Department was paged to a structure fire at 1426 90th St in Cambria. Upon arrival a machine shed owned by Warren Relph was found to be fully involved.

Members of Pierce Fire put water on a fire Monday afternoon in southeast Pierce County. Several fire departments, including Hadar, were called to fight a structure fire at 849rd.
